YES-O CAREs: Nurturing Young Minds, Cultivating a Greener Future!
As another year comes to a close, YES-O Tarlac National High School continues to embrace its mission of creating a more sustainable future—one community at a time. Through Project Adopt-a-Community, we strive to not only extend assistance but also to plant the seeds of environmental awareness in young minds, shaping them into future stewards of our planet. On December 18, 2024, we visited San Jose de Urquico Elementary School, where we were met with eager smiles and open hearts. More than just an outreach, this visit was an opportunity to share knowledge, encourage responsibility, and inspire action. We introduced the One Tumbler per Learner initiative, providing each student with a reusable water bottle—a small but meaningful step toward reducing plastic waste. By making this simple switch, we hope to instill the habit of choosing sustainability in their daily lives, showing them that even the smallest actions can contribute to a healthier planet. Beyond the materials we brought, we focused on what truly matters—education and awareness. Through interactive discussions, we talked about the importance of proper waste segregation, the impact of pollution, and the power of everyday choices in protecting the environment. We saw curiosity in their eyes, a willingness to learn, and a desire to make a difference. It was a reminder that the future of our planet lies in the hands of those willing to nurture and protect it. Leaving the school that day, we carried with us not only the warmth of their gratitude but also the hope that these young learners will grow up embracing the values we shared. Project Adopt-a-Community is not just about what we give—it is about what we leave behind. A lesson, a mindset, a commitment. Through these small yet meaningful efforts, we believe that change begins, one learner, one school, and one community at a time. A greener, more sustainable future is within reach, and it starts with each of us choosing to care.

As part of our celebration for National Zero Waste Month, the YES-O Tarlac National High School organized Project SEED: Steadfast Empowerment of Environmental Campaigns Towards Waste Project De-escalation. Together, we worked tirelessly to clean and clear our campus, emphasizing the importance of waste management and the need for a collective effort to protect our environment. In total, we collected 32 large trash bags—a visible testament to our shared commitment to creating a cleaner, greener space for learning and growth. More than just a clean campus, this drive was a reminder that every small action counts, and that together we can make a lasting impact. Thank you to everyone who joined us, from the students to the teachers and staff. Your efforts are planting the seeds for a cleaner, waste-free future. Let's keep the momentum going and continue striving for a world where sustainability is not just a choice, but a way of life.

In every step we take, meaningful change begins. And this year, just like last, YES-O Tarlac National High School continues its mission to make a difference in our communities, one act of kindness at a time. As part of Project CULTIVATE; TREE, our organization once again visited Brgy. San Jose de Urquico, Tarlac City, on December 18, 2024, to extend our support through a collaborative effort with the barangay officials and residents. Together, we successfully collected 34 trash bags of waste—an accomplishment that symbolizes our shared commitment to a cleaner, greener environment. Through this partnership, we are reminded that community-driven initiatives are key to real, lasting change. It’s not just about cleaning the streets or planting trees, but about building a shared responsibility for the environment, helping each other grow and thrive in a sustainable future. We are deeply grateful to Hon. Yolanda P. Corpuz, Hon. Myla B. Mendoza, Hon. Jolan B. Macapagal, Hon. Irene C. Ofoob, Hon. Raymundo Lantano, Hon. Lorena Gomez, Hon. Jimmy Manayan, Hon. Conrado Castañeda, and Mr. Mark Feliciano for welcoming us with open arms and continuing to be part of this journey. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and impact, together making our world a better place for everyone.
Sustainability is the New Love Language

This Valentine’s, we didn’t just share love—we made it sustainable. As part of our Valentine’s celebration, we saw how each little choice contributed to something bigger: a healthier planet. From supporting our eco-friendly merchandise to sipping on Enviro-Drinks and getting SusChained with that special someone, every action was a step toward a greener world. 🌎♻️ But the love didn’t stop with us. We made sure that unsold clothes from the event were passed on to the DSWD Home for Women in San Vicente, Tarlac City, where they’ll bring warmth and hope to those who need it most. It felt incredible to know that the items we no longer needed could make a real difference in someone else’s life. 💞🌿 We are so grateful to all of you who made sustainability part of your Valentine’s celebration. It’s moments like this that remind me how much we can achieve when we come together for the planet and each other. So, until next time—Y’ERS, let’s keep loving, keep caring, and, most importantly, keep choosing green. 🌱💚
Rooted in Action: The Soilution for a Greener Tomorrow Begins Today

The "Healthy Soils, Healthy Future" seminar marked a pivotal moment for our grade 7 STE students, as they took the first step toward understanding the global challenge of soil pollution. Led by Sir Vienjamin T. Lacamada, Earth Science teacher, the seminar not only educated students about the serious implications of soil contamination but also equipped them with practical solutions to combat this growing issue. This event also served as the launch of our One Tumbler per TNHSian initiative—an essential step toward reducing waste and fostering sustainability within our school community. By distributing reusable water bottles, we are empowering our students to make eco-conscious choices, one bottle at a time. Together, we’re cultivating a generation that understands the importance of the planet’s health and is ready to take action. This seminar and project are just the beginning of a journey towards a greener, cleaner world, where each individual’s efforts contribute to the global solution.
